The Digital Product Manager will oversee critical product executions, product updates and vendor relationships across the PGA of America’s digital platforms, bringing our iconic spectator Championships to fans both on site and around the world. Own and support multiple products that power the attending and at-home fan experience for several of golf’s most marquee events, including the PGA Championship, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and Ryder Cup.
The Digital Product Manager will spearhead efforts to elevate the attending fan experience through effective execution of the interactive map and onsite push notification strategy, and will own efforts to enhance and execute the PGA’s championship fantasy products. This position will also be tasked with ensuring timely updates to key pages and screens of the championship websites and apps. Serve in critical support roles surrounding our spectator championships, immersing themselves in the testing and refinement of our digital products, and ensuring execution is meeting and exceeding expectations during live events.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Play a critical role in delivering high-quality, best-in-class and issue-free digital products for the PGA of America’s spectator events. Lead in the execution of the products during the event weeks.
Oversee vendor relationships for specific digital products. Play an active role in the contract process and then program management throughout the championship cycle.
Manage third-party vendor relationships and take day-to-day ownership of specific features and products.
Be actively involved in the year-round planning, design, business requirements and testing processes for the PGA of America’s championship web and app experiences. Serve as a lead internal voice on updates to product development and progress.
Serve as the lead product owner for the spectator championship content management systems. Work with vendors to ensure necessary stakeholders and teams are up to date on processes, best practices and training. Work with stakeholders and vendors to determine necessary CMS enhancements and maintenance and oversee implementation.
Serve as the primary internal contact for all core editorial updates surrounding critical spectator championship information, including but not limited to website and app navigation, building and updating ticketing and hospitality pages, spectator guides and other mission-critical championship pages.
Ensure proper use and implementation of analytics tools and practices to allow for effective data-driven decision making surrounding digital products and platforms.
Regularly meet with revenue operations, partners and content teams to align on short and long-term product priorities.
Work closely with the digital revenue operations, content, marketing, partnership and championship operations teams, among others, with the task of ensuring that our digital products are consistently meeting organization-wide objectives.
Consistently look to drive the digital business forward commercially by exploring new opportunities/products/features in the space that will transform fan and partner engagement.
Enhance and maintain the PGA of America’s existing digital presence, while having an eye on the future and finding opportunities to enter into new spaces and engage new audiences.
Work with internal stakeholders to optimize product concepts and features so they will have impactful commercial value and properly showcase the world-class brands that the PGA of America partners with.
Participate in annual roadmap and budgeting efforts with the Director, Technical Product and Event Operations.
Stay up to date on the latest innovations in the sports digital product space and foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the PGA Digital team and beyond, as well as within the sports digital media space.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist with department program budget management including budget tracking for specific vendors, and input into the budget system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Marketing, Business, Media, Communications, Sport Management, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Product management training (i.e. Scrum certification) a plus but not required.
Four years experience in digital sports media, working with a league, team, collegiate athletic department, sports media outlet/content creator or similar with experience in digital platform management, product management/ownership, vendor management and content management.
Experience in the digital product lifecycle and golf a plus.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to create timelines and maintain deadlines. Must be organized on details, naturally curious and resourceful, ability to work against many timelines, and be able to self-manage day-to-day activities. Knowledgeable and savvy with all digital communication tools, such as G Suite (Gmail, G Doc, Sheets, Drive, Analytics), mobile devices, video conferencing, content management systems. Knowledge and experience in platforms such as Google Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Brightcove video management system, Brightspot CMS, Airship a plus.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
