The Mortgage Underwriter II is responsible for underwriting conventional mortgage loans in accordance with Fannie Mae, Investors, SONYMA and/or the Credit Union's mortgage portfolio guidelines. Evaluates

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
a. Automated and manual underwriting of conventional mortgage loans
b. Federal and state mortgage lending regulations
c. Fannie Mae Selling Guide and System Applications (DU, CPM, CU, UCD, EarlyCheck, SMDU)
d. State of New York Mortgage Agency programs and guidelines
Skills:
a. Intermediate level personal computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
b. Excellent verbal and strong written communication skills.
Ability to:
a. Utilize mortgage loan origination system.
b. Analyze income for self-employed borrowers and for 2-4 unit properties per current secondary market guidelines.
The starting hourly wage for this position is expected to be between $28.50 - $40.00 per hour. The actual hourly wage will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
