What You'll Be Doing:

Thorough Review: Examine loan applications and documentation to ensure compliance with HECM (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage) guidelines, company standards, and legal requirements.
Timely Decisions: Maintain efficient turnaround times for initial loan decisions and condition reviews, ensuring swift and accurate processing.
Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Control, Compliance, and Funding teams to resolve issues, evaluate risks, and address compliance concerns.
Guideline Expertise: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of HECM product guidelines and risk assessment tools.
Loan Rework: Adjust loan terms and identify additional conditions to support sound credit decisions.
Detailed Evaluation: Review borrower profiles, including income documentation, credit reports, and appraisals, to ensure all necessary information is collected for final decisions.
Relationship Building: Communicate effectively with loan originators, branch managers, and processors to foster strong working relationships.
What We're Looking For:

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in residential loan underwriting. DE certification and recent FHA underwriting experience are a plus.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of FHA/HECM policies and procedures, fraud detection tools, and secondary market practices.
Skills: Proficiency in manual underwriting, MS Office products, and a demonstrated ability to manage relationships and work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Experience: Previous mortgage processing experience and familiarity with repurchase response and rebuttal review are advantageous.
